Job description: Job DescriptionJoin our dynamic client, a leading group in the real estate/property management sector with offices based in Halifax, NS. With an ever-expanding portfolio, they are in search of a talented and motivated General Accountant to join their corporate finance team, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of key deliverables including financial reporting for a variety of entities.Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Manage full cycle accounting for a variety of entities
- Cash flow monitoring
- Bank and investment reconciliations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages
- Review submission of all statutory income tax filing
- Coordinate with auditors and external accountants, providing supporting documents for year-end review and audit
- Provide direct assistance and respond to queries from senior management
- Ad hoc reporting and duties as assigned
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting or finance
- Candidates currently enrolled in the CPA program, working towards their designation are strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 5 years working experience, ideally with prior experience in real estate related environments
- A self-starter, results driven team player and committed professional with analytical, problem solving and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, prioritization and meeting tight deadlines in a fast paced, high pressure environment
